History

In 2011, renowned luthier, Mr. Yoshiro Takayama, brought his unique guitar-building technique, skilled workers, and precision equipment from Japan to our new electric guitar company in China. This factory currently produces guitars for many famous brands from around the world. Mr. Takayama employs the highest level of care and attention to all our products here at TWT Guitars.

How we build guitars

The integration of modern and traditional guitar-making techniques is reflected in all TWT Guitars products. We have introduced advanced CNC machine tools from Japan to cut all our body and neck blanks. To ensure the tone of the guitar is not affected by the subtle differences of manual production, our precision CNC production line ensures the highest quality product with an accuracy of within 0.01mm.

We then employ a combination of machine and manual fine-grinding and polishing techniques which allows us to achieve a high level of precision, while preserving the traditional artistry that goes into crafting each of our guitar products. In this way, we maintain the production standards necessary to achieve the highest level of quality for our customers.

Most of the remaining work—from painting and finishing to binding and hardware installation—is done manually by master craftsmen with decades of experience. These craftsmen bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each task, which ensures that all our guitar products are meticulously painted and finished to perfection.

Each product at TWT Guitars undergoes multiple inspections throughout the production process. These inspections are conducted by our expert quality control team who carefully examine every aspect of the product—from materials and workmanship to functionality and playability. Any product that does not meet our stringent quality control standards is promptly identified and removed from the production line.
